Ellen Terry, a 19th century actress, known for being a leading lady to Sir Henry Irvine and for performing in many Shakespeare productions.
National Trust own her property, so is free to members (or £4.40 per child and £8.80 per adult). Parking is limited.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff really make a visit here worthwhile; in the front room, the staff even offer to play a recording of one of Ellen Terry’s later performances.
Also, there’s a small theatre that puts on productions and other events and a lovely tearoom in the garden.
